Anantara Resort & Spa was conceptualised
in 2001 with the re-branding of the Royal Garden Village to
Anantara Resort and Spa Hua Hin which underwent an extensive
refurbishment programme.
The Anantara experience is one of sensual harmony,
an intuitive balance of architecture and landscape, creating
an ambience of tranquility and serenity. Each Anantara Resort
& Spa reflects indigenous texture and culture in its design
and service. In pristine locations and offering environments
of relaxed elegance and attentive service, a stay at Anantara
will uplift the spirit and restore the sense of well-being.
Taken from a Sanskrit word meaning “borderless
water”, the name Anantara was selected for this element’s association
with good fortune in many Asian cultures. This also serves as
an inspiration for many of the atheistic features within the
resorts.
Owned and managed by Minor International, there are currently three Anantara Resorts & Spas in Thailand; in the seaside township of Hua Hin (250 km south of Bangkok), in Bophut Bay on Koh Samui and in the northern region of the country known as the Golden Triangle. In the world-renowned destination of the Maldives, the Anantara Maldives is a 30 minute boat ride from the capital Male. The newest member of the Anantara family, the Anantara Resort Seminyak, will open at the end of 2007 in this most fashionable district of Bali – the Island of the Gods.
